About

The Sticklepath and Okehampton Conservation Group (StOC) was established in 1991 and evolved from a community project at Finch Foundry, a National Trust Property in Sticklepath.  The aim of the Group is to preserve and improve the natural environment in the Okehampton and North Dartmoor area by contributing to conservation work identified by the community, coordinating the efforts of local volunteers and supporting existing conservation projects.

We seek to achieve this by encouraging the commitment of local people who want to learn about, care for and work at improving the local environment in practical ways. We also seek to provide opportunities for less able adults to experience a satisfying, outdoor work experience in a safe environment.

The group is based at Finch Foundry, Sticklepath, and meets there every Friday at 10am.
